Temple Israel has been the welcoming center of Jewish life and community in Alameda since 1920, where members, newcomers, and visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds participate in Jewish practices, spirituality, learning, and culture.
We offer something for everyone as your Jewish Home Base: Jewish education for children and adults, B'nei Mitzvah Program, Shabbat and High Holy Days services, Tot Shabbats, Temple Teens Program, online Torah Study, holiday celebrations, social justice activism, social clubs, and more. Enroll your children in our school! New members are welcomed throughout the year.
Visit our website's calendar to join us for our annual events, including the High Holy Days, the Alameda Holiday Fest, the public Menorah Lighting at South Shore Center, and the Beer Mitzvah (a craft beer festival). Be sure to check out the monthly Big Band performances on the last Monday of the month.
